luchtdruk vs wijn

ik geloof er niks van, maar ik wil wel mijn diensten aanbieden natuurlijk om de luchtdruk te voorspellen, en ik laat me natuurlijk in wijn betalen

het feit dat wijn in een vliegtuig of op hoogte anders smaakt door de mindere luchtdruk is misschien wel mogelijk : hier spreken we al snel van 20-30% verschil in luchtdruk, de variatie op zeeniveau is max 10% in extreme gevallen en meestal maar een paar %

Ooit met een aantal bergfanaten een magnum riesling van Hugel gekraakt op de Zuidkant van Piz Pallu.( 3905 m)
Of dat hij anders smaakte bij die luchtdruk weet of herinner ik me niet. Hij smaakte in ieder geval “superbe”
En wat ik vooral “superbe” vond was dat ik die fles niet heb meegesleurd tot op die hoogte

ik heb nen reply gedaan op die blog :

I don’t believe in the theory in normal circumstances, meaning the little change in air pressure at sea level, the effect of going from one place to another will usually be much greater than the change in pressure due to the weather, every 8 meters higher of lower means a difference of 1 hPa in pressure, so going up the hill to drink a bottle with your friend who lives overthere should mean that this wine will taste less good > anyone experienced such a thing?

this also means that is a shame/waste to drink Lafite in a Penthouse at the 100th floor or so of a skyscraper, because overthere you will have a fall of 40 hPa in pressure, and the “poor” people in Switzerland can’t enjoy there glass of wine because overthere the drop in airspressure is significant : eg in Sankt-Moritz (where I suppose they drink plenty of Lafite and Petrus) the pressure drops around 190 hPa in comparison to sea level

looking at the graph a change in temperature is far more important : a big change in airpressure can be “corrected” by a very small change in temperature (only a few tenths of a degree)

I think another theory is needed to explain this (if there is anything to explain ofc )

Als je ooit de gelegenheid heb de graatoverschrijding te doen zeker doen. (ook de oostgraad en de Bumillerpfeiler zijn niet te versmaden )

Volledig mee eens dat de temperatuur belangrijker is vooral voor de neus en de aromatische verbindingen die een laag kookpunt hebben.

ik vrees dat dat niet meer zal lukken > tot mijn hele, hele grote spijt ik geef de inhoud van mijn wijnfrigo's ervoor op om dit terug te kunnen doen (redelijk statement hé )

het enigste dat ik ondervonden heb is dat je je maaltijd langer moet laten koken op hoogte omdat het kookpunt gewoon een pak lager ligt, nog geen topwijn gedronken in de Alpen, ik zal eens fleske meepakken mocht ik nog eens aan sightseeing gaan doen daar
