Als er volgend jaar iemand wil gaan, ik zie dat wel zitten ... enkel een handelaar vinden die ons kaarten kan bezorgen.

In my 95 years, 2016 is my nineteenth Vintage of the Century for en primeur tastings. I have more Vintages of the Century than teeth. It was a perfect vintage. It rained like hell in the Spring, then there was a nasty drought. Works for me. My favorites were Cos, Pavie, Lafite, Mouton, Pétrus, Margaux and Montrose. They’re all perfect, 100 Point wines! But I gave them scores before I even landed at the airport. I have to. At this point, they all taste the same to me.

Op een vraag aan Frédéric Mugnier, gekende wijnbouwer uit de Bourgogne, over biodynamische aanpak was dit zijn antwoord.
But aren’t the biodynamic practitioners the pioneers of more holistic farming methods?
I don’t think they are pioneers. I was a pioneer too and I had no interest in Rudolf Steiner [who first put forward the theory of biodynamic farming]. I can’t see any food for thought in Steiner. He had no competence in agriculture – he was an archivist for the Goethe family. Everything he knew about nature, fruit, and the tools of farming he got them from Goethe – I would not trust him.
